Action for Children
Making Life Better for Children and Young People

Action for Children is one of the largest children’s charities in the UK and has been in operation since 1869.

We lead in providing services and campaigning for children, young people and their families in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Our main 4 areas of work are: family support, children in care, disabled children and vulnerable or excluded young people.

What we do

We run a fostering service that's rewarding for carers, children and young people alike.

Our adoption service helps the 6,000 children who are looking for adoptive parents.

We help disabled children, young people and their families live the lives they choose.

Support for children in care

We support children in care and leaving care, helping them thrive when they can't live with their parents.

Policy and Research

We campaign for change and make sure vulnerable children and young people are a priority for policy makers.

Services for professionals

Records and support

We help people who lived in our homes, or were adopted or fostered through our services, find their records.
