Richmond and Kingston Accessible Transport- RaKAT
Providing group transport provision for community and voluntary organisations
About Us

The aim of the organisation is to provide group transport provision for other community and voluntary organisation in the boroughs of Kingston and Richmond.

RAKAT has a fleet of 27 minibuses available for use by voluntary and community organizations serving the residents of Richmond and Kingston. 18 of the vehicles are fully accessible and have low steps and passenger lifts suitable for use by people with limited mobility or those who require to be transported in their wheelchairs. All drivers are trained in the safe operations of the minibus and its equipment and in assisting passengers.

In addition RAKAT operates and manages several vehicles belonging to other projects and also advises groups on all aspects of the safe and legal operation of their own vehicles.

We work in partnership with Transport for London (TfL) and house and supervise Dial a Ride (DaR) operations for the Richmond and Kingston areas. We act as a liaison between users, community organisations and statutory agencies with DaR. This enables more journeys to be completed and a more responsive community led service in our area.
