Allegro
Gay & Lesbian Music Group
About

The Allegro Music Group provides events for gay men and lesbians with an interest in music. It was founded in 1972 and was originally known as the CHE Music Group.

Our main activities are CD recitals of what is generally termed “classical” music in members’ homes. Some members have also started showing opera and concert performances on DVD.

Recent meetings have included Dvoƙák’s Cello Concerto, Bruch’s Violin Concerto, piano music by Bach, Scarlatti and Schubert, and a DVD evening of ballet.

The programme of events is issued twice a year and also lists interesting concerts, for instance by the London Gay Symphony Orchestra and the Guildhall Brass Enseemble.

Members live in various parts of London and even beyond.

The group welcomes new members. There is a subscription of £3 per year.
