Shake 'n' Dance
Building confidence through creativity

Arts in Education

Shake 'N' Dance’s arts-in-education programs engage diverse populations through a series of performances, workshops, master classes and training seminars.

Participants are exposed to a rich cultural heritage through association with community elders in the arts and education fields who are committed to transmitting the positive values, traditions and beliefs of the people and cultures of the Africa and the Caribbean.

Current Projects

Youth programme(2011)

Members of Shake work with the youth to learn to play instruments.

Thanks to our funders (the cooperative community fund)  the project has helped lots of youths to use the equipment we have which has lifted their confidence.

Shake'n'Dance is planning to continue with this project to reach more youth who can benefit from it.

Slim Rhythm (2010)

Funded by Awards For All, the Slim Rhythm project has helped lots of men and women lose weight and have a healthy life.

This was achieved by running dance workshops for families. This too is something which we think is still in demand and plan to continue in the future.
