Sexual Health Services

The Courtyard Clinic at St George's Hospital provides a full range of free and confidential sexual health services, including:

  • Advice, screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis
  • HIV testing and counselling, including same-day HIV testing
  • Emergency contraception (for women who have had unprotected sex) and advice on contraception
  • Sexual health advice and information
  • Hepatitis screening and vaccination for those at risk
  • Dedicated telephone results line for people who have been tested at the clinic
  • Care for HIV positive people, including regular assessment, therapy, counselling and advice on diet
  • Safer sex information and provision of free condoms
  • Separate under 18’s clinics called ‘The POINT’ held at St George’s, Queen Mary’s and Stormont Health Centre in Battersea.

All services are highly confidential and non-judgemental. Patients do not have to be referred by a GP to come to the clinic. Clinics are mostly ‘walk in’ although some have appointments which need to be booked.

Health advisers are available during all clinics to provide support and counselling where appropriate, for example, to patients diagnosed with HIV or a sexual transmitted infection.
