Bipolar UK - Young People
Supporting young people (aged 18-25) affected by Bipolar

Support For Young People (18-25 years old)

Many people with bipolar suffer their first episode of severe mania or depression in their late teens or early twenties.

The Bipolar UK Youth Project is funded by the City Bridge Trust to support young people aged between 18 and 25 years old who are living in London.

The project aims to help young people who are affected by bipolar - including those who may or may not have a diagnosis as well as young people who may be caring for someone with bipolar.

Support Services

Our support includes:

Support Groups - The groups are a safe space for discussions and are a place to share their experiences, learn more about bipolar and how to manage the condition. See our London groups, listed below.

Online eCommunity - The online forum is a support network that can be accessed from any part of the world and is available all of the time. It gives the opportunity to talk and discuss with other people who are experiencing similar situations. All of the posts are anomalous and the eCommunity is monitored. There are different discussion areas, including a section for young people.

Information Leaflets - Our website has a wealth of free and downloadable material with in-depth guidance about bipolar.

Frequently Asked Questions - Some of the answers from this section may be helpful. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions that you would like to ask.

Links to useful organisations - There are many other organisations which may be able to offer support and advice. Do not forget there are also local agencies and support services at schools, colleges and universities.

Young People's Support Groups

Our groups for young people are a great way for you to learn about the symptoms and impact of bipolar and to share your experiences with people of similar age.

The groups are friendly and relaxed and give you the opportunity to learn more about bipolar and the positive actions you can take to manage your condition. The groups are open to everyone aged 18-25 and run on a regular basis at venues across the UK.
