Wandsworth and Richmond Assessment Point- Stay Warm and Well
About Us

The Wandsworth and Richmond Assessment Point (WRAP) supports vulnerable (eg older, disabled, low income) Wandsworth residents to remain warm and well in their homes. 

The service is free to Wandsworth residents aged 18+ who are in need and include the following example groups:

  • People on a low income

  • People aged 65 and over

  • People living with mental health conditions

  • People living with a disability

  • People who have a long term health condition (such as diabetes or COPD)

  • People with children under the age of 5 or pregnant women



The service usually involves a home visit and advisors can help with the following:

  • Advice on utility bills and how to find cheaper tariffs
  • Advice on ways to stay warm for less including information on heating controls and tackling mould and condensation
  • Provision of free small measures such as CO detectors, radiator reflector panels and water saving devices where eligible
  • Referrals for government funded heating and insulation grants (if available)Referrals for adaptations such as grab rails
  • Referrals for benefit checks
  • Referrals for Home Fire Safety Visits and free smoke alarms
  • Referrals for health and wellbeing services such as the Expert Patient Programme and Falls Prevention

If you request the service, an advisor from our local not-for-profit organisation Thinking Works will assess your needs and if required, will visit you in your home at a time of your choosing to give you advice and help prepare you for winter.
