Moving On at Pecan
Mentoring for women aged 18-25 leaving custody

Supporting Women

‘Moving On’ is a mentoring programme that supports women aged 18-25 leaving custody.

We value the skills and experience of each individual and seek to work with their ‘story’ in positive and affirming ways.  We will use a range of methods to understand and record their story and set goals that build upon their experiences.  This will enable us to focus on small steps forward for each client.

Moving On is not about rewriting the past or denying its difficulties.

It is about giving each person possibilities or opportunities for constructive life changes.  Mentors provide  practical and emotional support covering issues like housing, finance, drugs and alcohol, domestic violence, family, work, education, training and anything else needed to live a settled life outside of prison.

What do I need to do?

The project locations can be found all over London. We work with women returning to any London Borough .
