Our library

Calibre Audio Library provides a subscription-free postal and streaming service of audio books for those unable to read print because of sight loss, dyslexia or physical disability. You do not have to be registered blind to use Calibre.

The library consists of 7,200 titles in 60 different categories available on MP3 CDs, USB memory sticks or via streaming. The tailored service allows the issue of books by category or members can make their own personal reading lists. Members can borrow up to 8 CDs and/or 3 memory sticks and limitless streaming titles at any one time.

There are no postal charges or fines for late or damaged books.

Joining Calibre

Calibre offers a free 12 week trial period with one book at a time despatched.

People can then pay a one-off joining fee of £35 to receive free books for life.

There is also a one-stop shop membership package available for under £70 which also includes a choice of USB memory stick players.

Calibre supports 90 book clubs and offers a group membership for schools and community organisations.
