Abraham Dawes Cottages

Sir Abraham Dawes sheltered housing consists of 12 individual terraced one-bedroom cottages, with accommodation spread over two floors.


Established in 1648 and modernised in 1985, there are gardens to the rear of the building, with limited controlled parking at the front. The scheme is located in an area boasting both commercial and residential properties.


Each cottage is self-contained with a modern kitchen and bathroom and offers a 24 hour alarm and monitoring service.

residency criteria

Applicants to this almshouse must be:

- over 60 years old at time of application

- resident in Wandsworth for two years prior to application


In exceptional circumstances where it has not been possible to fill a vacancy from this locality, then the trustees may consider applicants from the Pathways Jubilee area of benefit comprising the London boroughs of Wandsworth, Waltham Forest, Enfield, Haringey, Greenwich, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Lambeth.
